  1. I have the same issue. I didn't found a fix so far. It seems to be an issue with the Twitch-launcher.

The only solution I'm forced to use is to download a modpack with the wished Forge version, this pack gets downloaded with Forge.

After that, the system seem to finally recognize that you have "downloaded" the version and you can use it on every other pack you wish.

But to be fair I didn't made much effort so far to search for a fix because the whole MC-section of the Twitch-Launcher is broken since the beginning.

  2. I can again confirm there is no program monitoring it except Twitch and MC itself. I tried managing Rights, disabling read-only and even new Installation (completely with Twitch app and MC instance folder).

No other version has these issues. I can play and do what I want with EVERY other version. But 1.14.4 does these issues. I want to note again, that the file the MC is crashing is randomly picked. There is no sign if there is any kind of pattern to it.

The folder this instance is in is basically E:/programs/twitch/minecraft. There is nothing more simpler and there is nothing, so far I know, who observes this folder. I just notice that changing the MC-Forge version seem not to work as well.

The only thing I didn't check was my Antivirus, which usually would tell me if he would prevent something. (GData)

Installing the Folder itself was also a bit strange because I couldn't directly make one because he defaulted always C. I had to adjust it in the Settings.

I sadly have no idea anymore where this issue is coming from, the last option for me to try would be a manual installation of Forge and trying it without launcher/ in a different folder.

  3. bump: 7 days have passed, but sadly I haven't found a solution to this problem. Has nobody a similar issue like this?

My main Issue is number 2 because it seem literally random and prevents me from playing the game at all. There is no program preventing opening these files.

For notice: I even run a cmd command to make sure nothing prevents these files from accessing.

BUT it seems that the Twitch-client behaves a bit like that because I found it not possible to update Forge from 28.1.90 to 28.1.96. It started on 28.1.90 out of the blue once and is again back to the old state. (crashing randomly while loading.)

  4. Hey Daemon Umbra:

I thank you for your reply!

    1) The issue persist with every mod which apparently access the ColorHandler. I had this issue with a number of mods by now. I do not know where the issue is coming from, tho. The combinations to try seem to be endless.

    2) I can assure you, that no-program has the config opened. The config which crashes is also seemingly random. Its by every startup a different one. The configs have neither writing protection nor special access. To further check it, I deleted all configs and let them recreate. At (seemingly) random points where these configs are created, the game crashes.

    I checked all that.

Just for reference, the next startup.

It gets launched by the Twitch-Launcher.

Edit: Can someone help or has similar issues?

  5. Dear Minecraft-Forge Team:

I came here to post my issues because I all my research of this issue, were unsuccessful.

I tried to play the FTB 1.14-Unstable pack and I was unable to launch it.

After that I tried to disable certain mods which are known for causing issues, while I discovered that mod-devs blame in some cases each other with no real solution.

I want to apologize for any inconvenience I might cause.

In general I have 2 major issues:

    1) Issue: ColorHandler

People claimed that other mods messing something up, which causes this. I notice that mods in general which seem to use a method to colorize single sprites ingame to make a dynamic map, have this issue.

I was unable to find any mod which causes this, so I tried different Forge-Versions. Mystical Agriculture is a pretty good example, because it or at least the LIBRARY uses a pretty high forge Version. None of them worked.

this might need some further investigation

    Crash Report.

    2) Issue: Night Config I/O Exception: Writing

This is the main Issue why I came here. The issue appears to be random because every time the game freezes and crashes on a different config, general it is only by mods with the new config-system.

I my suspicion were access-problems and rights, but I didn't found any issues with that.

I was searching for a solution and most people have only trouble with the "not enough data" issue, which is definitely not the same as I have.

But I tried to delete the fml.toml and forge-client.toml. It didn't work.

    Crash Report.

I have to mention, that the config the Exception is thrown seem to be random. Deleting the folder and recreate proofs that.
