Hello, I am trying to run forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, but it crashes with exit code 1. Here are some aspects to consider: - I am running forge with no mods installed - My Java is up to date (I am using java 17), and I have reinstalled it, along with the launcher and forge. - I am using Windows 11 - Forge works for versions below 1.19, I have tried to run forge on each version of 1.18 and it didnt crash and I could play MC just fine. - I have a laptop with NVidia RTX 3060 and an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS. All the drivers are up to date. Here are the logs: - debug log: https://pastebin.com/BBiedc29 - launcher log: https://pastebin.com/guA115Dz

This second release build introduces new features and bugfixes. New: Allow modders to unregister their LazyOptionals. Moved ForgeHooksClient.onCreativeModeTabBuildContents to ForgeHooks to fix #9662 Fix tag removal functionality that broke during the 1.19 update. Closes #9053 and #8949 Replace string with forge tag in vanilla recipes. Closes #9062 Fix breaking overlay flickering on campfires by using vanilla method to calculate block normals. I recently started trying to get back into modding after having last done anything in 1.15. Now when I try to run the client with Java8 I get this error Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: cpw/mods/bootstraplauncher/BootstrapLauncher has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 60.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0 at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$100(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.launcher.LauncherHelper.checkAndLoadMain(Unknown Source) Doing some research I found I needed to update to at least Java16 to fix this error. But when I do that I now get this error Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError at cpw.mods.niofs.union.UnionFileSystemProvider.newFileSystemInternal(UnionFileSystemProvider.java:115) at cpw.mods.niofs.union.UnionFileSystemProvider.newFileSystem(UnionFileSystemProvider.java:105) at cpw.mods.jarhandling.impl.Jar.<init>(Jar.java:84) at cpw.mods.jarhandling.SecureJar.from(SecureJar.java:70) at cpw.mods.jarhandling.SecureJar.from(SecureJar.java:66) at cpw.mods.jarhandling.SecureJar.from(SecureJar.java:58) at cpw.mods.jarhandling.SecureJar.from(SecureJar.java:50) at cpw.mods.bootstraplauncher.BootstrapLauncher.main(BootstrapLauncher.java:84) Caused by: java.lang.reflect.InaccessibleObjectException: Unable to make field static final java.lang.invoke.MethodHandles$Lookup java.lang.invoke.MethodHandles$Lookup.IMPL_LOOKUP accessible: module java.base does not "opens java.lang.invoke" to unnamed module @7d4793a8 at java.base/java.lang.reflect.AccessibleObject.checkCanSetAccessible(AccessibleObject.java:354) at java.base/java.lang.reflect.AccessibleObject.checkCanSetAccessible(AccessibleObject.java:297) at java.base/java.lang.reflect.Field.checkCanSetAccessible(Field.java:178) at java.base/java.lang.reflect.Field.setAccessible(Field.java:172) at cpw.mods.niofs.union.UnionFileSystem.<clinit>(UnionFileSystem.java:52) ... 8 more I can execute runClient in command prompt without any issues, but not through Eclipse. I have tried this with both Java16 and Java17 and both give this same error. Does anyone have any suggestions to get this working correctly?

Hey! I'm trying to run a modded server for my friends, and I managed to get the mods working single-player on my PC, but when I try and load them up onto my server (barring what I hope are all the client-side only ones) I get this error. 1.20.1 forge crashes only with version 1.20 or 1.20.1
spidy_28 posted a topic in Support & Bug Reports
Hello, I had installed Forge (1.20.1) and when I click play in the Minecraft launcher, it tries to start it but it crashes. I tried 1.20 and had the same problem, but when I go to 1.19 or earlier it works just fine. I reinstalled the game but that doesn't work either. I saw somewhere that you have to upgrade or downgrade your drivers. but because I also use my laptop for school things, I don't want to touch the drivers unless I really have to. Technical details: I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 14ARH7 laptop with Windows 11. AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS creator edition with AMD Radeon graphics https://www.transfernow.net/dl/20230910MIcUYdfs I hope this is good. I couldn't get pastebin to work. -

I kind of don't know what I am doing or know what I am looking for but when I try and run the run.bat file it comes up with a whole bunch of stuff I am not sure of. latest.log: https://pastebin.com/FkHNg2MN I should note the server does work without mods. It just doesn't work with mods for some reason. I'm making this server for friends too so they can play.

Hello! I'm somewhat new to modded minecraft, but I am starting to get really into it. I have a particular issue that threw me into this rabbit hole (Duplicate Delegate error) which I hope I'll be able to learn how to solve by you guys, but in general, I really wish to learn how to read, understand and fix things myself. Unfortunately, I've been very unsuccessful in finding a lot of helpful material online. So here I am, ready to bother you nice people... ;_; Crash report: https://pastebin.com/nSVZQQWY Debug log: https://pastebin.com/x48sj3x8 The issue is that hovering the storage drawer in your inventory when it contains certain items (in this case a Nether Star), will make the game crash with a -1 error. I understand that the particular mod causing the crash is Snownee's Drawers Tooltip. I wish to keep this mod, but it appears that I will have to edit some config files in order to do so... since I've learned that it's just their IDs which might be overlapping (?). I have, however, also read that newer versions of minecraft shouldn't have this overlapping issue, because their names changed from numbers to words (like, stone used to be 1, but now it's something like minecraft:stone). I've read a post on another website which recommended using Eclipse to edit those IDs will help, but I don't know how to navigate that program. It's all a mess, eheh. :^) So yah. If a kind soul would be willing to patiently help me understand what is wrong and how I could possibly solve it, I'd be forever grateful.
