No .jar files, just .JSON

I'm having issues with installing mods for forge 1.16.3 in Minecraft Java Edition. The forge client is installed in my launcher and works fine but it is the installed mods that are not showing up in game. I am trying to use the mods Mr. Crayfish Furniture mod & storage drawers. I have installed java correctly also. The two mods do not show up as .jar files, just JSON. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you download the mods?

The furniture mod was from Mr. Crayfish's website and the storage drawer mod is from CurseForge

When i go to download storage drawers, it shows up as a .jar file but when i extract the files in the mod, they are all JSON

Why are you extracting them? Put the mods in the mods folder.
