is there an estimated date of completion?

the first test release should be out soon-ish, it depends on how much time lexmanos has available to finish porting to the new system & mc 1.3

Excuse me that i'm annoying, but what is the limit-day when Forge 1.3.1 is out?(approximately)

how about u learn how to read??? did u read all posts before typing this????? i mean there are about 5 posts  giving the answer, and of corse im not gonna post it in here, search for it yourself instead of being lazy!!! believe me, u gonna win with it from now on

Shit happened, oh well, it's taking longer then I wanted.

However all the new features, namely, merging of eveything into a single code base, is worth it.

Anyways yes, the integrated server shares static values. As thats how java works.

And Mojang did not put the server into a seperate classloader.

BUT! Don't expect that to always work, so you shouldn't do anything hackey with it, or things won't work on remote servers.

Shared classloader is what I wanted to know. And I don't want to use it - that would defeat the point of having SP be handled as MP. I was in fact hoping it wasn't the case, now I have to review all my statics usage.

And yeah, the new merged setup will be cool and help a lot :)

So let's say I get a mod updated to 1.3.1 with no problem in single player with only minecraft.jar. To get the minecraft server jar working, I can simply copy and everything from the client source and it should work?

I wish Forge was like Optifine where they showed the percentage they completed for the next update. I'm feeling anxious about this like all the other modders here :P grabbing my hair now and going to wait...

We are 197.6 pickels done out of 1.2269 dogs complete.

Take from that what you will.

omg, i did not know forge ran on pickels! no wonder minecraft is so sour when mods fail!  :o

well, i better go buy some dog biscuits to make my minecraft happy again!

honestly people, forge will be ready when forge is ready, asking when is pointless cause lex probably does not know for sure either!

and a 'percentage complete' would not work, for optifine it was stuck at 98% for days, how does that show its almost done????

if you all miss your damned MC mods so badly, downgrade to 1.2.5 and play on that! *glares*

Being noobish since 96, being dumb since birth!

I love pickles and I'll take them all. And the dog, because I love dogs too!  ;D

With 1.3.2 upcoming, will you release a 1.3.1 version if 1.3.2 is earlier?

1.3.2?! Really?! OH HELL NAWW!! Need to update twice?! =_=

I don't know if you saw but the latest build in Jenkins is for 1.2.5. It was released August 3rd. 1.3.1 came out on the 1st. What I'm saying is the build that's currently being worked won't stop mid-progress, they'll finish it and release for the version it's being worked on for.

I wouldn't expect the 1.3.2 update to be a drastic change, Mojang is just going to fix the bugs that have been pointed out since 1.3.1.  As for Forge, Lex and cpw should have no problem patching for the update, if they need to patch at all.

I can assure you the Forge team is working hard to get out a stable release.  They've already pointed out on their GitHub repository that they have the API up and running on Client and Server, it's just a matter of bugfixing now.  My estimation would be 2 more working days.

I don't know exactly how much the 1.3.2 bugfix will impede Forge, but I suspect that it will be like the 1.2.5 update -- some changes to the code but no new classes, and obfuscations remain the same, meaning that most 1.3.1 mods should work with 1.3.2 and 1.3.1 MCP should work with 1.3.2.

Of course I could be totally utterly wrong; that's just what I think is likely.

DISCLAIMER: the above date is not supported by the forge developers!

there, problem solved! :-X

Haha, didn't put that into consideration.  Note that that is MY PERSONAL estimation.  I am in no way related or a part of the MinecraftForge team.

[shadow=red,left][glow=red,2,300]didnt meant to be harsh and I am sorry if u didnt understand what i meant when i said what i said[/glow][/shadow]

let me rephrase it: its  really annoying to see multiple ppl posting the same question over and over when the answer is in the topic itself, specially when there are only 2/3 pages ( i could understand the same question if there was like 10+ pages, its hard to read over 100 posts), please read the previous posts before posting a question next time

once again I am sorry

There is a known NPE when connecting to a Server with the current builds

The jenkins is for MODDERS ONLY.

I will be liberally applying the banhammer for anyone who ISNT a modder who posts support requests for 1.3 builds.

Also for anyone who continiously post bugs that we know about EXA: THe NPE when connecting to a server.

You have been warned.

Also, aside from that browse the jenkins with Adblock disabled and i'll <3 you {its got the adfly script for downloads that is disabled if you use adblock}

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Just to support the Forge team, I will use the ad version of the links :D

Alright. I'm not sure if you know this bug (or if it's a bug at all), but I installed Forge properly like how I do for 1.2.5 (put bin and resource folder in the jar folder and click "install.bat"). The installation gave me about 500 errors. Here's a snapshot of it. I'm using the latest Forge build 177.

Edit: I starting up Eclipse and Eclipse seems to be all messed up and confused. It can't find the src folders. Going to try to reinstall and give you more feed back.

    • They were already updated, and just to double check I even did a cleanup and fresh update from that same page. I'm quite sure drivers are not the problem here.
    • i tried downloading the drivers but it says no AMD graphics hardware has been detected
    • Update your AMD/ATI drivers - get the drivers from their website - do not update via system
    • As the title says i keep on crashing on forge 1.20.1 even without any mods downloaded, i have the latest drivers (nvidia) and vanilla minecraft works perfectly fine for me logs: https://pastebin.com/5UR01yG9
    • Hello everyone, I'm making this post to seek help for my modded block, It's a special block called FrozenBlock supposed to take the place of an old block, then after a set amount of ticks, it's supposed to revert its Block State, Entity, data... to the old block like this :  The problem I have is that the system breaks when handling multi blocks (I tried some fix but none of them worked) :  The bug I have identified is that the function "setOldBlockFields" in the item's "setFrozenBlock" function gets called once for the 1st block of multiblock getting frozen (as it should), but gets called a second time BEFORE creating the first FrozenBlock with the data of the 1st block, hence giving the same data to the two FrozenBlock :   Old Block Fields set BlockState : Block{minecraft:black_bed}[facing=east,occupied=false,part=head] BlockEntity : net.minecraft.world.level.block.entity.BedBlockEntity@73681674 BlockEntityData : id:"minecraft:bed",x:3,y:-60,z:-6} Old Block Fields set BlockState : Block{minecraft:black_bed}[facing=east,occupied=false,part=foot] BlockEntity : net.minecraft.world.level.block.entity.BedBlockEntity@6d1aa3da BlockEntityData : {id:"minecraft:bed",x:2,y:-60,z:-6} Frozen Block Entity set BlockState : Block{minecraft:black_bed}[facing=east,occupied=false,part=foot] BlockPos{x=3, y=-60, z=-6} BlockEntity : net.minecraft.world.level.block.entity.BedBlockEntity@6d1aa3da BlockEntityData : {id:"minecraft:bed",x:2,y:-60,z:-6} Frozen Block Entity set BlockState : Block{minecraft:black_bed}[facing=east,occupied=false,part=foot] BlockPos{x=2, y=-60, z=-6} BlockEntity : net.minecraft.world.level.block.entity.BedBlockEntity@6d1aa3da BlockEntityData : {id:"minecraft:bed",x:2,y:-60,z:-6} here is the code inside my custom "freeze" item :    @Override     public @NotNull InteractionResult useOn(@NotNull UseOnContext pContext) {         if (!pContext.getLevel().isClientSide() && pContext.getHand() == InteractionHand.MAIN_HAND) {             BlockPos blockPos = pContext.getClickedPos();             BlockPos secondBlockPos = getMultiblockPos(blockPos, pContext.getLevel().getBlockState(blockPos));             if (secondBlockPos != null) {                 createFrozenBlock(pContext, secondBlockPos);             }             createFrozenBlock(pContext, blockPos);             return InteractionResult.SUCCESS;         }         return super.useOn(pContext);     }     public static void createFrozenBlock(UseOnContext pContext, BlockPos blockPos) {         BlockState oldState = pContext.getLevel().getBlockState(blockPos);         BlockEntity oldBlockEntity = oldState.hasBlockEntity() ? pContext.getLevel().getBlockEntity(blockPos) : null;         CompoundTag oldBlockEntityData = oldState.hasBlockEntity() ? oldBlockEntity.serializeNBT() : null;         if (oldBlockEntity != null) {             pContext.getLevel().removeBlockEntity(blockPos);         }         BlockState FrozenBlock = setFrozenBlock(oldState, oldBlockEntity, oldBlockEntityData);         pContext.getLevel().setBlockAndUpdate(blockPos, FrozenBlock);     }     public static BlockState setFrozenBlock(BlockState blockState, @Nullable BlockEntity blockEntity, @Nullable CompoundTag blockEntityData) {         BlockState FrozenBlock = BlockRegister.FROZEN_BLOCK.get().defaultBlockState();         ((FrozenBlock) FrozenBlock.getBlock()).setOldBlockFields(blockState, blockEntity, blockEntityData);         return FrozenBlock;     }
