BufferBuilder rendering black and purple texture

I'm working on a forge mod for 1.16.5 and I made a custom Dimension and I made a custom sky for my dimension but when I test the mod the sun is just a black and purple texture, I'm pretty new at modding so I don't know what to do.

Is your sun texture really called earth.png?

A black and purple square is minecraft's way of saying "missing texture".

 

Try doing the following in that method:

System.out.println(Minecraft.getInstance().getResourceManager().getResource(SUN_TEXTURES));

Actually I think your problem is that you should be doing

You are looking for minecraft/textures/sky/earth.png if you don't specify your MOD_ID.

rejected vanilla connections I don't know the exact meaning of these lines, but it looks to me like Forge detects a mismatch between my mods and the servers'. However, there is no such mismatch; we're using the same version of Forge and the same list of mods. Is this a known issue with any particular mod? I'm using Optifine; is this a known side-effect of the mod? For what it's worth, I'm also getting a constant stream of messages while the game is open.
    • Is there a way to easily determine whether certain entity is a boss? By boss I mean it has health bar, advanced mechanics, more HP and attack power, etc - but mostly health bar. I have compared Ender Dragon, Wither and Warden (although I don't know if it is considered a boss), but can't find any property/method that indicates boss status. Any tips on this would be appreciated.
