I created a modded Minecraft pack and subsequent server for My Fiance and I to play on, we are both new to modding, and have no experience of what mods go together. We gave it a shot and made a pretty good pack, based on some mods we saw previously in All The Mods 9, plus some other building and fun mods. Everything was great, server was running for 10 days(?) and went through multiple subsequent restart cycles (wasn't online 24/7). We were wrapping up for the night, I did /saveall in game, and the command said the world was finished saving. I then did /stop.

Following morning we attempted to start the server and it will not get past:

[19:25:04] [Server thread/INFO] [minecraft/MinecraftServer]: Preparing start region for dimension minecraft:overworld

I attempted to take out the world, and load it on Singleplayer, however same issue, world wont load. I deleted the "serverconfig" directory and it will also not load. I removed the world from the server, thus allowing it to generate a new world, and that worked fine. But our current world will not load anywhere.

I am aware of some errors in the logs due to some mismatching, and incompatibilities; I didn't know what was strictly client-side, and what needed to go onto the server, I also didn't know what performance mods did what, so there is a potential multiple were doing the same thing, however this shouldn't be responsible for the crash, as no new mods have been added for atleast 10 restart cycles and everything worked smoothly. I know there is an error about Canary conflicting with Better Chunk Loading, however that error has occured since the beginning of the server and nothing new.

It is to be noted that there isn't actually a crash happening.

If this world is corrupted, is there any way to fix it? I have a backup of the world from 4 days ago, but I also dont want to have to roll back that far, I would really like to deal with the issue at hand.

Same issue without the mod Cupboard?

Yes. I disabled Cupboard and all the other mods by that developer

I really care about this world, as it isn't just a world to me. There's losts of monuments already. Really hoping to get it loading. It's weird that it could be a mod doing it, as I had stated that no mods had been modified for a few days, and still the server was loading and restart fine.

Should be in the logs-folder, too

By the way, I don't think I made this as clear as possible. When the server would not start, I copied the world from the server and am now trying to load it in from Single Player. When I said I removed the mods, I meant I did so from the client, as the server was out of the picture, as I was loading the world locally from single player. The log I provided before was from the server, but same thing happens on Single player.

I did disable all of those mods in the screenshot, and the world would not load past 14%. Adding them back i'm loading up to 80% and then nothing.

This is the full startup log of trying to join it from singleplayer: https://mclo.gs/Or8U7N6
And here is the debug.log from BEFORE when I was trying on the server. https://mclo.gs/2uTQucK

I have no idea - nothing mentioned

Yeah it's weird. nothing in the logs about why it isn't loading. The game hasn't even crashed either or hung, it's still responding to me clicking in the game window (it makes the GUI clicking noise)

That’s awesome that you and your fiancé created a custom modpack! Since there’s no crash but the world won’t load, it could be a corrupted chunk. Try using tools like MCA Selector to remove broken chunks or check logs for specific errors. Hopefully, a fix lets you continue without rolling back too far—good luck! A junior in my college recommended Academized when I needed help with my research paper. Their essay writing service, that I have found https://academized.com here, covers various subjects, and they have experienced writers. I like that they offer revisions and refunds if the quality isn’t as expected. If anyone is looking for professional academic help, this site is worth considering.

    • Forge version: 55.0.0 Minecraft version: 1.21.5 Downloads: As this is the start of a new version, it is recommended that you check the downloads page and use the latest version to receive any bug fixes. Downloads page Intro: Good evening! Today, we have released our initial build of Forge 55.0 for Minecraft 1.21.5. 1.21.5 is the newest member of the 1.21 family of versions, which was released yesterday on March 25, 2025. As a reminder, the first minor (X.0) of a Forge version is a beta. Forge betas are marked as such on the bottom left of the title screen and are candidates for any breaking changes. Additionally, there are a couple of important things to note about this update, which I've made sure to mention in this post as well. Feel free to chat with us about bugs or these implementation changes on GitHub and in our Discord server. As always, we will continue to keep all versions of 1.21 and 1.20 in active support as covered by our tiered support policy. Cheers, happy modding, and good luck porting! Rendering Refactor For those who tuned in to Minecraft Live on March 22, 2025, you may already know that Mojang have announced their intention to bring their new Vibrant Visuals overhaul to Java in the future. They've taken the first steps toward this by refactoring how rendering pipelines and render types are handled internally. This has, in turn, made many of Forge's rendering APIs that have existed for years obsolete, as they (for the most part) can be done directly in vanilla. If there was a rendering API that was provided by Forge which you believe should be re-implemented, we're happy to discuss on GitHub through an issue or a pull request. Deprecation of weapon-like ToolActions In 1.21.5, Minecraft added new data components for defining the characteristics of weapons in data. This includes attack speed, block tags which define efficient blocks, and more. As such, we will begin marking our ToolActions solution for this as deprecated. ToolActions were originally added to address the problem of creating modded tools that needed to perform the same actions as vanilla tools. There are still a few tool actions that will continue to be used, such as the shears tool action for example. There are some existing Forge tool actions that are currently obsolete and have no effect given the way the new data components are implemented. We will continue to work on these deprecations and invite you to chat with us on GitHub or Discord if you have any questions.
    • In summary, a full mod to adjust mining progress in such a specific way does not yet exist in its exact form, but it is possible to find mods that change certain aspects of progression (e.g. "Harder Ores").
