JimiIT92
Hi everybody! I'm asking you help making a miner helmet. This item is an helmet that while is weared give night vision to the player, but i want to hide the particles effect and the guy which says that the nighty vision effect is applied for **:**. I'm posting a screen to better explain what i'm trying to do. I've tried to copy the code directly from the potion effect (the part where it says to minecraft "add light ecc..." but it seems is hard-coded because it's not in the Potion files Image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h1yroci3ioksjd7/2014-03-11_18.58.58.png This is the code of the helmet package mod_ores.items; import net.minecraft.client.renderer.texture.IconRegister; import net.minecraft.entity.Entity; import net.minecraft.entity.player.EntityPlayer; import net.minecraft.item.EnumArmorMaterial; import net.minecraft.item.ItemArmor; import net.minecraft.item.ItemStack; import net.minecraft.potion.Potion; import net.minecraft.potion.PotionEffect; import net.minecraft.world.World; public class ItemMinerHemet extends ItemArmor { private String mat; private String name; public ItemMinerHemet(int par1, EnumArmorMaterial par2EnumArmorMaterial, int par3, int par4, String par5, String par6) { super(par1, par2EnumArmorMaterial, par3, par4); mat = par5; name = par6; } public void registerIcons(IconRegister par1IconRegister) { itemIcon = par1IconRegister.registerIcon(mod_ores.main.modId + ":" + name); } public String getArmorTexture(ItemStack stack, Entity entity, int slot, int layer){ if (layer == 2) return mod_ores.main.modId + ":" + "textures/models/armor/" + mat + "_2.png"; else return mod_ores.main.modId + ":" + "textures/models/armor/" + mat + "_1.png"; } @Override public void onArmorTickUpdate(World world, EntityPlayer player, ItemStack itemStack) { ItemStack head = player.getCurrentItemOrArmor(4); if(player.getCurrentItemOrArmor(4) != null){ if(head.getItem() == mod_ores.main.minerHelmet){ player.addPotionEffect((new PotionEffect(Potion.nightVision.getId(), 10, 0))); } } } } Thanks for helping me! Chibill
I would use a render event and change the brightness player setting to a big number like 1000000 and it will make it bight.

Chibill
Actually I think if you can grab the update method in the helmet on the client side you can run Minecraft.getMinecraft.gameSettings.gammaSetting = 1000F;
