Hi all. We are trying to write the code for our strawberry bush to generate randomly on the surface of the world. We have currently got this code, however we a re getting errors on the first line, and can't find out why. Any help or links to tutorials that apply to 1.7.2 will be much appreciated.

public void generateSurface(World world, Random rand, int i, int j)
        {
        	GenRand = new Random();
        	GenRandNum = GenRand.nextInt(50)+1;

        	if(GenRandNum > 1 && GenRandNum <15)
        	{
        		for(int l = 0; l<GenRandNum; l++)
        		{
        			int i1 = i + rand.nextInt(16);
        			int k1 = j + rand.nextInt(16);
        			int j1 = world.getHeightValue(i1, k1);

        			if(world.getBlock(i1, j1 - l, k1)==Blocks.grass);
        			{
        				world.setBlock(i1, j1, k1, StrawberryBush);
        			}
        		}
        	}
        }

It is telling us void is an invalid type for the variable generateSurface, however we don't know what else to try. It is also throwing up syntax errors the the commas however this is probably as a result of the problem with generateSurface.

Thanks for your help

Try learning basic java. Your syntax is not even remotely correct in variable  creation, initiializaton, usage, casing...
