[1.8] How to make a 3D model item <Not Solved>

Grey has an excellent breakdown on rendering here:

http://greyminecraftcoder.blogspot.be/2013/08/rendering-items.html

Basically, you need to write your custom renderer and bind the relevant item rendering perspects in to it.

For example, this renderer responds to the EQUIPPED_FIRST_PERSON mode and displays the cards in the player's hand instead of the item:

https://github.com/Minothor/EmeraldCasino/blob/master/src/main/java/EmeraldCasino/renderers/items/

I hope this helps and good luck, custom rendering can be a right pain at times!

What do you mean by 3D model item? Like a ItemRenderer (custom model on item in first person, third person, inventory and dropped entity)?

Yes a custom model in first, third, and dropped, and when you hold it it has a 3D model, I looked at like the anvil item model but I don't know how to translate that into my shape I want.

No, that's for 1.7 and below. In 1.8 you need to use the JSON model files. Have a look at the anvil.

But IDK what of my rotation/size and if I have separate pieces in the model not just 1 thing, also can I just import the model and use Resource location?

Use this:

I used that to make my custom crafting table, it's a little hard to texture it but i would look at the anvil json file while creating the custom model

Well.. not necessarily, I studied my techne model I made (like for instance, I was making a base that was 3 pixels high, I did the same number of pixels on the maker and got the same result, even though on techne, it said 6 instead of 3)

Do I have to render it, I want it to render in 3D, the inventory texture doesn't have to be 3D, I want it to hold the model I made for it in techne not with json I know how to do that, json are the space in which the texture/model may take up, I want it to render it as 3D

Thats what the MC Model maker is for, take the anvil's model json and import it inside the maker and you would see how it's made (though it doesn't show a 3d preview of it since the whole thing is entirely flat)

Hey does anyone know the code for making 3D model items in 1.8, I haven't found a up-to-date, and do I need to use a TurboModelThingy or can I use java?

Take a look at Champion Ash5357's 1.8 modding tutorials... there may be something useful there.

"I'm that kind of person who is completely new to java but can make a good java program from scratch without any tutorials"

I'm Cesar. A beginner coder that has amazing ideas but can't make them real. Also, I ask a lot of questions ;)
