[1.8.9] How do I rotate depending on the time?

For 90-degree rotations, you should be able to rotate the model from the blockstates file. Create a property in your block's state to store the current rotation (this could be an enum), then override

Block#getActualState

to return an

IBlockState

with this property set to the appropriate value based on the current world time (

World#getWorldTime

).

For other rotations, you may be able to do something with

ISmartBlockModel

or

TileEntitySpecialRenderer

/

FastTESR

; but I can't help you much with these.

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.
