Problem: The block randomly turns into TNT when I break it. I've tried commenting out onBlockPlacedBy and then it didn't randomly explode when I break it. I need the onBlockPlacedBy function. Why is onBlockPlacedBy causing this and how can I use it without this happening?

I love copy pasta. You have so much crap that you either need to remove or rename so you can figure out what this class does and why you have the problem you have.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

Can you not read? I clearly said the problem was in onPlacedBlockBy.

What Drago18s is saying is that YOU HAVE LITERALLY COPIED AND PASTED THE TNT ITEM CLASS ITSELF. Rename your variables and remove comments you do not need. Clean up your code and try to make it look at least like you bloody even tried to fix your problem please..... like seriously dude.

What does this do in your class?

private static final String __OBFID = "CL_00000324";

Bet you have no idea.  Bet $1000 you don't even need it.

(Also: I'd win that bet, hands down no questions asked because it's used by MCP to reobfuscate vanilla classes.)

And being snarky and an arse at the same time won't get you any help. Demanding help and getting mad at people that are trying to show you that coping and pasting is bad, but even worse if you don't understand it.... now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with not understanding it. We all need to learn. But by literally copying and pasting hoping to work well yeah no. Sorry code doesn't work like that....

By the way,

onPlacedBlockBy

is not in the code you posted.

I ctrl-F'd and don't see it.

You meant "onBlockPlacedBy" not "onPlacedBlockBy" which is why I couldn't find it.

You might want to look into what the flags (last parameter of setBlockMetadataWithNotify) does.

Also, I helpfully reported you to the moderators as per my sig.

Try extending the TNT class instead of copying it. Then just override the few things you want to change. Come back when you've done what you can and have a snag left. Be sure to show your work (within a spoiler frame) and tell us what your goal is.

The debugger is a powerful and necessary tool in any IDE, so learn how to use it. You'll be able to tell us more and get better help here if you investigate your runtime problems in the debugger before posting.
