Hello,

I was wondering how to set up a Minecraft server using µTorrent.

From what I've seen simply creating a server, setting the IP to the IPv4 Address and setting the port for incoming connections to 25565 in µTorrent should work.

I've tried it multiple times but others can't seem to join my server, and when I check if the port 25565 is open on my IP it says it isn't responding (using CheckMyPort.com).

Is there anyone here that knows how it works?

Thanks.

EDIT: I can join the server myself using the IPv4 Address as IP, so the server works, the problem is probably just µTorrent. I've also tried reinstalling µTorrent.

uTorrent isn't a Minecraft server... Why would you think this would work?

I've seen multiple 'tutorials' from 5 year old kids that showed how to do it, and those seemed to be legit.

But for me it doesn't work. (Basically what you should have to do is just run your Minecraft server, and setting the port for incoming connections of µTorrent to 25565)

Oh god, I see what they are doing. They are using µTorrent to open your Router's firewall.

Don't do this. Look up how to configure your Router properly.

Ah ok, well that's what I was trying to avoid because I don't have access to it, only my dad has.

Thanks anyways!

This is so grumesome beyond words. Basically exploiting the upnp feature of torrent clients. Even if they doesnt know how to port forwarding they can use a standalone and proper upnp tool. Just google it.

[1.15.2] Minecraft Registry Problem When Loading from Jar

By Jack Richard · Posted 45 minutes ago

Thanks so much for your help! I removed the log4j dependency, I honesty don't remember when I put that there. Once I fixed the jar.finalizedBy line, everything worked! (One small issue where I was relocating all of "com.google" when I just should've relocated "com.google.common," too)   Thanks again!

Fixed the issue, one config didnt match, downloaded randompatches to solve badly compressed packet afterwards.

First of all, why are you shadowing log4j? Minecraft already provides log4j2. Second if build is running shadowjar instead of jar then you might need to tweak the line where it says jar.finalizedBy('reobfJar') to finalize shadowJar instead
