1.12.2 [SOLVED] Help Rotating Stairs

Hi, firstly there is a typo in the heading... you wrote Stars instead of stairs.

Now, if you want to place the stairs in a certain rotation you can click on the appropriate side of the block,i.e. the block you are placing the stair on.

If you want to rotate an already placed stair, break it... ?(cause I can't think of any way to rotate it without a modded item)

Edit: I can't figure out whether you want to do it programmatically or not ?

1.Thank you, for my error in the title.:D

2.I am creating a mod, but it does not modify the stairs, so that they rotate as in vanilla.
I need help to know how to join the stair, or in any case the code xD

If you look at the three images above, you can see that the different types of stairs are differentiated by three properties:-

> facing

> half

> shape

For connecting the stairs you'll probably mostly need to change the shape property.

If you see the code in the BlockStairs class, you can use its getStairsShape() function to find the current shape of the stair.

I haven't worked with blocks a lot so I can't really help any further. ?

Thank you very much, it helped me too much, I already solved the problem

    • Here's a shot of where I'd expect to find it. There's one older forge version that appears at the bottom of the list, so I checked its entire length to be sure.
    • Hi!, I'm trying to set up a workspace for a 1.17 mod. I want to port a 1.16.5 mod I already have, but first I wanted to try to set up a new empty mod, just to assure it works. • I'm new to Java and modding, so I went to the tutorial on https://mcforge.readthedocs.io/en/1.16.x/gettingstarted/ but I already am facing issues. I followed the guide up until step 6, at which point when I run "gradlew enIntellijRuns" I get an error which reads "Could not find net.minecraftforge:forge:1.16.5-36.2.0_mapped_official_1.16.5.". Do any knowledgable modders know what this means and how to fix it? Log: https://pastebin.com/vt9VgLPz Please let me know if I need to supply any additional information such as further logs or screenshots.
    • I will check out how chests work and see if I can figure a couple things from that, meanwhile ignore the fact I just table flipped on setBlock doing one thing, but not with blockpos.offset wow this change from 1.7 to 1.17 is making me feel dumb Lol Edit: yup nope lack of sleep derp for that Lol Oh well
