I wonder what the Item.Properties class does.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

you can call it in the constructor of your block, it returns itself.

do you know java?

I ask because you could also just create a variable with Block.Properties#create , then run all methods on it and then insert the variable in the constructor. This is basic java, you should know this before you start modding!

 I will make fun of you if you are not able to look into the (vanilla-) code.

    public static final RegistryObject<Block> SHADESTONE = BLOCKS.register("shadestone", () -> new Block(Block.Properties.create(Material.ROCK).hardnessAndResistance(5.0F,3.0F).sound(SoundType.STONE).harvestTool(???).harvestLevel(???)));

Here the question marks are where I don't know what to do, I don't know what value these methods require, and thank you i know java.

Pass in a ToolType to harvestTool. E.g. ToolType.AXE.

Harvest level Is just an integer. I believe it is something like 0: wood, 1: stone tools, 2: iron tools, 3: diamond tools.

1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code.

2. Always post your code.

3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that.

1. Read the EAQ before asking for help. Remember to provide the appropriate log(s).

2. Versions below 1.11 are no longer supported due to their age. Update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

The harvest tool you could have found by looking at the method signature. It takes a ToolType value, looking at its definition you would have seen that it was an enum with 3 values.

The other takes an int. Looking at existing vanilla code (right click -> find all references) would have turned up what existing blocks used. Cross referencing with the wiki would have matched values with material.
