1. You need to move this into your ClientProxy


This might not be the issue of your error (I couldnt see it), but this could definitely cause issues


2. If you want to follow the minecraft package naming "convention", you should lower case your tileEntities package and also put all package names to singular (screens -> screen, items -> item etc.)

I moved it to ClientProxy like so:

package com.budrunbun.lavalamp.proxy;

import com.budrunbun.lavalamp.container.ModContainers;
import com.budrunbun.lavalamp.renderer.DisplayFreezerRenderer;
import com.budrunbun.lavalamp.renderer.ShelfBlockRenderer;
import com.budrunbun.lavalamp.screen.CheeseGeneratorScreen;
import com.budrunbun.lavalamp.tileentity.DisplayFreezerTileEntity;
import com.budrunbun.lavalamp.tileentity.ShelfTileEntity;
import net.minecraft.client.gui.ScreenManager;
import net.minecraftforge.fml.client.registry.ClientRegistry;

public class ClientProxy implements IProxy {

    public void init() {
        ScreenManager.registerFactory(ModContainers.CHEESE_GENERATOR_CONTAINER, CheeseGeneratorScreen::new);
        ClientRegistry.bindTileEntitySpecialRenderer(ShelfTileEntity.class, new ShelfBlockRenderer());
        ClientRegistry.bindTileEntitySpecialRenderer(DisplayFreezerTileEntity.class, new DisplayFreezerRenderer());


but error is the same

The way you register your custom recipe serializer is completely wrong.

You must do it in the same way you do for your blocks and items (recipe serializers are registry entries):

  1. Do not create registry entries in a static initializer.
  2. Do not use the vanilla registry methods, use the registry provided to you in the event.
  3. Set your registry names properly. Here it does not make any sense at all what you are doing.
