How would i go about intagrating buildcraft power system into my mod.

So i'm creating a mod. Its purpose is to add new ways of gathering power in buildcraft. I'd like to know how i can integrate the power system from buildcraft. This mod isn't depended on buildcraft. It has it's own machines that do their own thing. It also has power storage so buildcraft isn't needed but it can be used with. Kind of like thermal expantions.

One of the mods is Minefactory Reloaded which does what you want to do and should give you an idea of how to hook into BC.
