[1.16.4] Damage ItemStack through Json Shaped/Shapeless craft?

Is it possible to damage an ItemStack that is used in a crafting recipe for recipes stored as Json? For example, a hammer that damages a little every time you craft ingots into a plate.

I would like to do this in Json format as all my other recipes are that way and would like to be consistent, but I cannot find anything online about it in Json form. I was looking into "crafting_special_*" and maybe there's a way I can use that?

if I'm not mistaken, you can override hasContainerItem and getContainerTtem. Container items are items that are returned whenever you use them in crafting, like when you craft a cake, the bucket of milk returns a bucket.

then in getContainer item you can damage the itemStack and return it

(This is a guess, I'm also new to modding)

I looked into it but it seems like getContainerItem is final so I couldn't override it, and both are labeled as "@Deprecated // Use ItemStack sensitive version.". I'm not sure how I would access the ItemStack method when my class extends Item. I found this suggesting I can override it so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

You don't need to implement IForgeItem directly, Item already does that. You just need to override the method.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
