1.16.4 Can't connect to server, incomplete server tags.

The server is hosted on my PC and I can connect to it with same PC, but my friend cannot. I looked through his log and at line 9282 there is

[Render thread/WARN] [net.minecraft.client.network.play.ClientPlayNetHandler/]: Incomplete server tags, disconnecting. Missing: {minecraft:item=[minecraft:emerald]}

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Right. I already ran it a few times without my friend since then because I was trying to figure things out. Is that alright, or should I get you new logs with my friend trying to join?
