That is not a problem, but the fact that the created folder only contains a .json file (even after I run Minecraft once) is the issue.

Its really strange, It opens up this forge window which asks me where it should upload forge 1.8.9. But when I check it out, it only contains .json. @diesieben07

How do I create that folder?

I have another issue, in my -bash (terminal) my cd introcs/hello cannot be found as a file. Do you know how to solve this? @diesieben07

That's what I did, I didn't extract it. I double clicked it and it turned into a folder in my .versions @diesieben07

I've recently been wanting to download forge for Minecraft, so I got the 1.8 version. I downloaded it, and it turned into a folder. However this folder only contained a .json file, and was otherwise empty. The forge works on my mac, but I cannot install any mods, since I don't have the mod folder inside of my .minecraft ---> Forge 1.8.
