When the new launcher came out the old one worked perfectly fine for me so I honestly saw no point in using the new one. I followed your advice and used the new launcher (and after it updated) the game worked fine. I am just curious as to WHY the old launcher which hadn't been updated in a LONG time suddenly stopped launching the game.

I have never used the new launcher. Mine is the same file i have used since 1.7

Hey guys can someone point me in the right direction please. MC worked fine last night, and today it won't run (NO changes to the install since last night.) getting this in the Game Output tab: Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch and the launcher log shows this. in an effort to fix it. I deleted pretty much everything in my .minecraft folder and let the launcher reinstall. Then updated to latest Java AND Forge.

I ended up stripping the install and adding mods slowly. Turns out it was the railcraft cosmetic additions mod. Thanks for taking a look and pointing me in the right direction
