I used both the standard start script that FTB include and the following: java -server -Xms2048M -Xmx8192M -jar [forge jar] -nogui

I made use of the installer and I am continuing to experience this issue.

I said in my message that I used the installer to obtain the libraries and the Forge jar. Also, can I ask how I am meant to use the installer on a system with no GUI?

I was attempting to setup the server for FTB Revelation but after extracting the files and running the server start script, I was immediately met with this InvocationTargetException: This error is on Ubuntu 16.04 with OpenJDK 8 or Oracle JDK 8 and no log files are produced. I tried replacing the jar file that FTB includes with the 1.12.2 recommended build, and latest, and neither had any effect. I also noted the NoClassDefFoundError was indicative of a missing library, which I checked for and could not find. I redownloaded the libraries using the Forge installer, both jar and exe, to no effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
