Is it possible to "vanish" players on a online game?

Im currently playing on a very big server, and, sometimes, random players mess around with things like opening chests. I Was wondering if its possible to make a mod to "vanish" those players, and then be able to open the chests. I Searched a lot and didnt found anything, so, any help is appreciated. Edit: Im playing in minecraft 1.5.2.
