Ahh tysm, it's working now

I've got forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2772-installer-win installed but the latest version of forge i can play on is forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.2594 and i have no clue how to play on the version i want.

I wanna say this before you read the rest: my forge is NOT outdated, I have a new version (forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2768) downloaded but it doesn't show up in crash reports, no clue if that has something to do with what's going on because forge works with other mods.
