  1. Updating Java didn't seem to do anything, for any of the installers. I also tried using the command prompt, but I couldn't figure out how to open a file with it.
  2. A. What command prompt? I wasn't aware this was a thing in Windows 7. B. I'm not sure. I will try that when I get home.
  3. I've tried all the installers on the website, including the .jar ones, but none of them work besides the windows installer. It just doesn't even open anything. I've tried using the default program on my computer, opening with Java, but nothing seems to work.
  4. I've been trying to get the Forge installer to work for a while now, and I can't seem to get it to. I try to download it using the Windows .exe installer, and I go through the install wizard like usual, but once I finish the install wizard and click install, I get this (the window with the X) saying that a bunch of files failed to download. I think I managed to find the installer log, and here it is. Can anyone help? minecraft-forge.exe.log
