So I have to get an outdated version of OpenJDK? because I have 11.0.3 right now.

I select Forge, it loads a little and crash immediately without even opening the game. https://imgur.com/a/PR7Ejy1 I tried on my side to edit the JVM argument as I know the default one makes my game not launch (I edit to this: -Xmx1G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M) With or without that edit, it doesn't launch and crash.

Double posting, sorry about that. It did work, and now is installed. What doesn't work now is launching the game. It works both vanilla and with optifine, but not forge. ? Should I make a new topic? My latest.txt in /logs doesn't show the crash at all. I will probably just give up on the idea of modding, my laptop probably can't handle it anyway, and if this is because of OpenJDK, I'd rather not be able to mod than use anything else ?

I got it on my Software app (the one pre-installed with my OS: Ubuntu Mate) like most of my stuff. If it is the issue, I will backup my saves and see to install another one Linux compatible.

I do not have any version of forge in the list, that's the issue! EDIT: Could this be because I also have Optifine installed? If yes, is there any way I can run both, even if it's not at the same time?

Hello! I have been trying to install Forge but so far, it doesn't look like it worked. Profile is created after install, named "forge" but no user version of forge is available to pick, no mods folder, nothing, no Mods option on startup. Here is my install log, if it helps. (sorry, I couldn't find a way to attach the log. I can do a pastebin link if it is allowed instead on request.) Disclaimer: it is my second time trying to install it. First time had the same result, some googling said that deleting the ~/.minecraft/libraries/net/minecraftforge folder and reinstalling forge would maybe fix it.
