    forge server modding not working!!!

    I'm trying to add a mod to my forge server 1.7.10 so me and a friend can have more to do on survival but for some reason its not working, it comes up in the creative menu and i can have it in my hand but when i place it down it just disappears and i really need help so any help would be appreciated.
