    Sudden lag spikes

    Hey, I've been getting sudden lag spikes every few seconds, and lag freezes every once in a while, and i have: betterfps, Optifine, Galacticraft (excluding the extra files), Heroes expansion, Speedster heroes, Optifine, Hopper Ducts, Journey maps, and Travellers backpack. I set the best Optifine setting and allocate 5GB of ram into minecraft, I have a intel core I7, 2.8GHZ and 8 gigabytes of ram and for some reason im still getting like 4-20 fps, besides getting a new laptop and allocating more ram, why have i been getting lag spikes?
