Did you download the recommended version or the newest version? the newest version may be bugged (Have not tried it yet though since all of the mods I like are still in 1.12)

I have been adding a lot of mods, and now I can not load up my minecraft forge profile because of the core mods. How do I correctly use them so it can launch successfully?
