What do you mean? I never need to set up a installation for a new Forge version. It automatically adds a new installation called <unnamed installation> (forge 1.####)

So when you install a version of Forge into your downloads then install it, it is a version you can play. But when I download Forge for 1.12.2 and install it, it does not show that I can play Forge 1.12.2. When I download any other version of Forge it works and I can play (for example) I download Forge for 1.7.10, it shows up as a option to play Minecraft on.
