I'm just having a whole mess of problems with Forge right now. I'm hoping somebody will be able to help me out here.
I've been trying to play the Pixelmon Mod. I went to their website and followed the directions to their tutorial. I downloaded the Mod. Opened it with Winrar and put it into the Mods folder. When I open up Magic Launcher Pixelmon 1.9 shows up the in the External Mods section. So far so good. Then I downloaded Forge 6.5.0.489 as directed on the Pixelmon site. Check Magic Launcher Setup and under the Status column it says ok (meaning I have forge). I start the game up and it goes through all the FML updating/loading or whatever and just before it gets done I get this huge message. See spoiler. (I also deleted the meta-inf folder so I know that isn't the problem)
Then I came here and checked the FAQ (the one that says read this before you post or you may be banned). I didn't find anything that matched the information in my spoiler but I thought that downloading the latest version of forge would fix it. Unfortunately, it did not. Under the status column in the Magic Launcher Setup it say that no Forge. I tried starting Minecraft and got the same message.
Now I can't even play it unmodded. I decided just to do a force update and start playing again. I can play unmodded Minecraft now but decided that I would give installing Pixelmon on more try.
I tried putting the latest version of Forge into the Minecraft.jar file but got this message.
Another problem is when I try to put Forge into the Minecraft.jar folder I get the message "! Cannot rename __rzi_0.249 to C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."
I came back here and checked the FAQ again. It said to make sure that I didn't have ModLoader on. I don't ever remember downloading ModLoader but I did find some files in the bin folder that say ForgeModLoader-client-0.
I'm trying to delete the file ForgeModLoader-client-0 but can't. I keep getting the message, "The action cannot be completed because the file is open in Java™ Platform SE binary." What does that mean? I don't have anything else open?
I've tried right clicking on Minecraft.jar > Open with > Jave SE Binary. Then I got the message, "Could not find the main class: net.minecraft.client.Minecraft. Program will exit.
I'm at a loss of things to try. I've put in roughly eight hours over the past three days trying to get this Mod and Forge to work and I'm getting really discouraged/frustrated because nothing is working.
