The mo creatures I have downloaded is 1.12, as is the biomes o' plenty mod. The forge I have is the one that says compatible for 1.12-1.14 however the mo creatures mod does not work. Is this an issue with forge or the mod?

I want to run mo creatures and biomes o' plenty which I have successfully downloaded, however, the version of both that I have requires forge 1.12 and they do not run with the forge installer that says compatible for 1.12-1.14 (or at least mo creatures doesn't). Is this an issue with forge or my mods?
