I went to the installation of forge that I had on my launcher and clicked to look at the versions just look for the one you installed by the numbers after the version of Minecraft that it applies to

I feel dumb I think I figured it out thank you for your help

i tried but it did not work any other ideas

I will be gone for 2 hours so if info is needed you might have to wait

when I go to install the latest onto my launcher it says that it installs and then I go to try and use it and it has the last version I downloaded still there and no new one last time I posted this request I was asked about the launcher
