    Actually yes the version 28.1.18 works! Twitch still had an issue to install it correctly, but after installing manually from here it works!

    I have the exact same issue with the exception that I first started by trying to create a profile from twitch and i installed in a different path. I then tried to install forge manually but had no success, got this instead. I tried to uninstall minecraft and twitch, clean installed again, repeated steps, tried earlier version... at the very least it works without forge, and with minecraft 1.12.2 and earlier.... but more recent than that, it won't budge. I'm at a loss
