    Yeah, thanks this worked. I guess I thought the forge jar was some kind of plug-in.

    Oh, I’ll try that. That is what was installed by forge.

    I did that and it said all libraries installed correctly. All the mods are the same; all forge versions are the same etc. I ran the server, joined, could do all vanilla functions just not the modded ones. Does the forge file need to be in a sub-file of the server jar’s location, or does it need to stay where it is?

    This is first time setting up a modded server, so I followed the instructions on the forge website and used some YouTube videos. I got the server working; i.e. me and my friend can join and play although the modded content won’t load. So when I place a modded block, it’s replaced with air. All other discussions on this topic tell me to mod the server by adding the forge file. But I’ve done this and it still doesn’t work. Does anyone have any idea why?
