    Jar file for 12.2 not showing up

    I have been downloading forge 1.12.2 trying to play with a mod but every time I download it, there is no .jar file just a JSON. after looking stuff up I saw that this is supposed to happen with this version but now I ask how do I open 1.12.2, it doesn't show up in the launcher (Yes the one Minecraft provides not a custom)
