  1. okay, i did everything the tutorial did, but now i just dont know one thing, how would i spawn the entity, the only thing that i do, is send the packet to the server through that queu or something, but how do i spawn the entity then?

    EDIT: i can't spawn the entity because i don't have a world instance. I checked, and i AM on the server side, but when i get an instance of World by typing this: ModLoader.getMinecraftInstance().theWorld; that world instance is still client sided.

  2. But as i said, thats not working, then i will see the block, but when i reload the world it will be disappeared... Thats (i think) caused by the fact that it only places the block server side, because world.isRemote gives me "true" twice :/

  3. The Methyr Dimension

    Minecraft Forge

    Current version: Alpha 0.0.4 (MC 1.4.6 || Forge 6.5.0.471)

    Merry Christmas!

    We finally did it guys, after a lot of time, hard work and frustrating errors, we have finished the methyr dimension in alpha version. This is just the alpha version, so we will be updating a lot, and also fixing a lot of bugs.

    The Methyr Dimension mod is a mod that adds one new dimension, it's a new world, where you have to start over again, you can't use your old tools anymore. It's harder, and of course more epic. You will find stories on your way, that teach you about the blocks and items in game, also some stories will tell you about mobs, and how to create magic. You start off with very small kinds of magic, but that will improve to very cool magic to play with. There are a lot of cool dungeons in the mod, that you can explore, discover and get the weapons in there, that you can't craft. There are ridiculous mobs in the Methyr, all made by KarryBird, thank's for that :D. Please give it a try, you won't regret it.

    Information about crafting recipes and more:</p>

    If you want to play this mod in survival mode, i suggest you don't open this spoiler, it will tell you information about all the recipes and blocks, normally you should find that out while playing the mod.

    That's where the methyr tome is actually for.

    The Portal Room

    This is the room, generated in the overworld, where you can open the portal to the methyr.

    How to open the portal

    [WARNING] This will give information that you'd normally find while playing the mod!

    To open the portal, you have to add four items to the altar (the block in the middle). The items are:

    Ender pearl, Blaze Powder, Emerald and a Bone.

    The altar will eat up your items, and if you added them all, it will spawn the portal for you.

    The Methyr Tome

    The methyr tome is a book, found in the portal room of the methyr. It will keep track of your progress in the methyr, save blocks, items, mobs and magics you discover, so you can read it back and find out information about them. It also saves stories and pages that you find.

    Mobs

    (some names may change, and not all info has been implemented, but may be added in future updates. any suggestions for mobs or names would be greatly appreciated!)

    We may be uploading some more pics and info on karrybirds deviantart page here

    Wolf

    Wolf kit

    the wolf is a neutral mob that live in large packs. these fast creatures are very protective of their pack, if one is threatened, they will all retaliate. they can be tamed if given enough plenty of bones by the player and will become their loyal companion.though they bare a close resemblance to canines, they are actually more closely related to weasels. but like their real world counterparts, they can be quite vicious if provoked. they are born almost all white with black spots and stripes. as they grow older, they grow their new coats depending on the location that they grew up in.

    they drop wolf meat.

    Hatilum

    calf

    these large beasts roam the land in herds. they are neutral though, when hit they will defend themselves. their tough hides make sturdy armor that gives the added perk of poison protection. the hatilums immune system prevents them from getting ill,making them completely immune to poison. they can be tamed and bred with stacus stalks.

    they drop beef, armor plates, and maybe a horn or two.

    Yeran wasp

    Grub

    the wasps are neutral insects, gathering nector from flowers, and flying amongst the skies. they will attack when hit, and as with the wolves, they will swarm. they inflict a deadly poison, so being stung could be fatal. the honey that the wasps make in their nests can be used to treat the poison though. if held in a bucket, the honey can also be used to tame the little grubs also found at the nest. the grubs are harmless and will follow the player when holding a honey bucket. when given the honey the grubs are tamed and eventually grow up into little wasps that will poison enemies that threaten the player (besides hatilums) when adults, they can also be "milked" for their poison when right clicked with a bucket. this venom is used to craft poison arrows.

    they drop a stinger.

    Salamander

    these peaceful amphibians wander the lands harmlessly and are mostly found near water.

    Planned

    Geckos

    another peaceful lizard with the ability to climb any surface, even ceilings!

    Chameleons

    chameleons are shy little lizards, when they see the player they will blend in with whatever block they are standing on in order to hide from the potential foe.

    Birds

    birds fly the skies peacefully, filling the air with their lovely songs.

    they drop feathers.

    Pheasants

    these special birds act just like the chickens of the overworld. they lay eggs and become a decent source of food for the hungry adventurer.

    they drop feathers and pheasant meat, as well as lay eggs.

    Alpacas

    alpacas are a primary source of food for many predators of the methyr, as well as a source soft cozy wool.

    can be sheern for wool.

    drop wool and alpaca meat.

    Cereval

    being completely blind, they rely on their sense of hearing to know what's going on around them. they can also detect light through the pits above their nose. the markings on their body light up in order to communicate silently to their pack members while hunting. along with the lights, the markings also emit an extremely high pitched sound that only they can hear. they also use them as a warning to any predators that may try to harm them. if whatever creature larger than it gets to close, they will attack. if the player holds still while their markings are flashing, the cerevals may think the target has fled and they will drop their guards. sneaking past them also prevents them from sensing the player. they drop a core upon death that can be used in crafting lanterns.

    drop light core.

    Gryphon

    (model to be remade)

    these large beasts are an important part of the elven lifestyle. they serve as the primary mode of transportation across the land and the floating islands. they do have a bad attitude though, taming one can be tough. wild gryphons live atop the floating islands, guarding them in a way. if a player tries the tower straight up to them, they will most likely be knocked right off and sent to their deaths. in order to tame them, a special potion needs to be thrown in order to "calm" them down to where they stop attacking. then they can be tamed and ridden by the player.

    drops gryphon feathers

    Phoenix

    (model has changed a little bit)

    a very rare and legendary creature the phoenix is. it is spoken about in myths and fables and worshiped by some tribes. they live in the very depths of the methyr, in a large cavern with a lake of lava. they are completely immune to any damage from fire or lava. they in fact bathe in lava while they rest and set themselves ablaze to protect themselves from any foe. very few have ever seen this magnificent creature, and those who have rarely survive to tell about it. it is said that only the mightiest of warriors are able to tame this creature, those it deems worthy. when killed the bird is reverted to a pile of ashes for the player to collect. when the ashes are set up in a certain formation and set ablaze with fire crafted from the very bird itself, the phoenix will be reborn again and imprint on the player, becoming their faithful partners. they become rideable after they grow to a certain age, allowing the player to take to the skies with a trail of flames behind them.

    drops phoenix feathers, and ash.

  5. Hey, i am trying to place a block when interacting with a mob. But when i just spawn it using this code:

    world.setBlockWithNotify((int)this.posX, (int)this.posY + 5, (int)this.posZ, MyBlock.block.blockID);

    it places it, and when i reload the world, it's gone.

    when i try this:

    if(!world.isRemote) world.setBlockWithNotify((int)this.posX, (int)this.posY + 5, (int)this.posZ, MethyrBlocks.methyrFarmSide.blockID);

    nothing happens (it wont even place the block) and when i try when the world IS remote, the same happens as doing nothing.

    when i type:

    System.out.println(world.isRemote);

    i get two true messages.

    Can somebody please help me with this, it's really annoying :/

  6. and here's the error if i run it just in minecraft:

    Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem; Exception in world tick

    Please help me with this guys... thanks in advance!

  9. Hey guys, i'm using forge, and i have a problem when generating a few blocks. The way i want it is that if you put specific items in an altars inventory, then the portal will build. This is all working, but the portal actually "isn't" there. I can see them, but the portal block is not working, and also, if i place a block next to the portal block or the portal frame block, it disappears. i am spawning everything from onRandomDisplayTick() maybe that's the problem? here is the code:

    The Block Altar:

    public void randomDisplayTick(World par1World, int par2, int par3, int par4, Random par5Random) {
    	if(canPortalSpawn && !isPortalThere) {
    		timeout++;
    		//System.out.println(timeout);
    		if(timeout == 1) par1World.setBlockWithNotify(par2 + 2, par3, par4 - 5, MethyrBlocks.MethyrGla.blockID);
    		if(timeout == 2) par1World.setBlockWithNotify(par2 + 1, par3, par4 - 5, MethyrBlocks.MethyrGla.blockID);
    		if(timeout == 3) par1World.setBlockWithNotify(par2, par3, par4 - 5, MethyrBlocks.MethyrGla.blockID);
    		if(timeout == 4) par1World.setBlockWithNotify(par2 - 1, par3, par4 - 5, MethyrBlocks.MethyrGla.blockID);
