    Making a stand-alone mod Forge compatible.

    Hi. Im quite inexperienced with modding, and I know this question may be dumb so bare with me. My question, is it possible to turn a normal Minecraft mod into one that is Forge compatible? In other words, instead of placing a mod in ur versions folder, could you somehow recode it to work in ur mods folder instead, so you'd have ur other mods aswell. If this is possible, I'd like to know how. Thanks
