    Alright, so a mod/ add-on that I want to use requires the 1.8.9 version of forge, and I've downloaded forge along with java. When I open the Minecraft Launcher, select forge 1.8.9, and press play, one of two things happen- One: The Launcher says "preparing" for a few seconds then exits out, or Two: An Error page pops up (image). Is there anything I am missing/ not doing right? Your advice would be much appreciated!
