I've done the exact same thing as you have, but the texture (and model) is not displaying on the item. example_item.json: { "parent": "item/generated", "textures": { "layer0": "test:item/example_item" } } example_item.png (magnified for clearness): What am I doing wrong?

By the way, how can I put a texture on the item? I can't figure out how.

I am trying to make a two-block tall block (similar to doors). How can I implement this?
