  2. Getting that error in PuTTY. Its only when I run the file forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2847-universal.jar When I run "minecraft_server.1.12.2.jar" It starts up just fine, after accepting the eula. However, that doesn't have any mods on the server side. I'm using WinSCP and PuTTY. I did my utmost to use Java 8, and I'm pretty sure I installed it. However, I'm not entirely sure. I am, at best, a beginner at using PuTTY. It only came with Java 11 and I used the "wget" command and a download link to get the newest version of Java 8. If you just respond with, "Use Java 8," that is less than helpful. If I am not using Java 8, then I don't know how to use it and would very much like to know how to use it. When I check the version, I get Java 11, but that is just the one that it comes with. I am not even sure the command would recognize that I installed Java 8 considering it might not be in the same folder as Java 11. Or maybe it would. Either way, I clearly don't know how to either install Java 8 or use it rather than 11.
