i have had watched many mod tutorials on e been trying how to install these mods and they all didn't work for 1.8.9 I've been trying and trying over and over and over again to load these mods! they won't show up i even tried to make a new mod folder they wont show up. please help.

btw the forge version is 1.12.2

so i've downloaded a mod for forge put it in a folder and used game directory to point to the modpack and it still wont work. I honestly don't know why, it just refuses to load it only shows the five mods already there. can i please have help i've watched videos and read replies to stuff like this already but none of it worked. Please help
