Quinn Cloud

I am trying to download Minecraft forge 1.12.2 and the loading screen seems to be stuck. It says... "Downloading libraries" "Unpacking packed file akka-actor_2.11-2.3.3.jar.pack.xz" and it's frozen there. I've re tried the download a couple times and I've let it sit like this all night incase it was just taking a long time but nothing changes. I was able to download forge 1.15.2 with no problems but I need to get 1.12.2 for the mods I want to instal. I am on a macOS Catalina, version 10.15.4. Is it posable that I can't use forge 1.12.2 on this computer or is there something else I am missing? Please let me know! :)
