I had a previous problem with downloading 1.7.10 and I was told to change to a more modern version so I went to 1.12 and I still have the exact same problem. It stops mid-way on the installation process.

I went to the official forge download, and downloaded the recommended forge to my Mac. I downloaded forge 1.7.10 version 10.13.4.1558 and when I go to install the client it just stops mid-way. I let it sit for two hours and then overnight and it still doesn’t get passed the same point. I’ve tried downloading different forges and extracting and doing it manually, but then forge doesn’t pop up in the Minecraft launcher. I’ve been doing this for two days and I’ve lost my mind. Please help.
