  1. I've tried a fresh minecraft install three times now. update: I finally got it working by using different archive software. Thanks for minecraft forge.
  2. I'm having some issues here installing minecraft forge. My OS is slackware 64bit, minecraft version 1.4.7, and using minecraftforge-universal-1.4.7-6.6.0.497.zip. I've tried a few other versions with the same results. I've googled the error, and found only a post elsewhere that was answered with "Not all of Forge was installed into your .jar." I'm pretty sure that's not the case here. The error is as follows: chopp@slack64 | ~/.minecraft | 06:51:56 $java -cp minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame asdf Exception in thread "Thread-3" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: cpw/mods/fml/client/FMLTextureFX at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$100(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredMethods0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.privateGetDeclaredMethods(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredMethod(Unknown Source) at cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.ReflectionHelper.findMethod(ReflectionHelper.java:170) at cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.FMLRelauncher.computeExistingClientHome(FMLRelauncher.java:195) at cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.FMLRelauncher.relaunchApplet(FMLRelauncher.java:241) at cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.FMLRelauncher.appletEntry(FMLRelauncher.java:212) at net.minecraft.client.MinecraftApplet.init(MinecraftApplet.java:25) at net.minecraft.Launcher.replace(Launcher.java:136) at net.minecraft.Launcher$1.run(Launcher.java:79) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: cpw.mods.fml.client.FMLTextureFX at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) ... 21 more any ideas? Thanks
