    HELP can't find launcher

    Totally new to Minecraft on the PC. I bought the Windows 10 starter pack so I could use mods. I downloaded forge 1.16.1, same version as Minecraft. When I try to install Forge it tells me it can't find the .minecraft folder and to run launcher. I do open Minecraft and open up the default world. I then exit and save. Still no directory. I've tried to search for the launcher. I can't find it. Very frustrated and upset. PLEASE HELP
