  1. I think I found out what caused the issue. In the settings, the launcher was set to close automatically after launching, which seemed to result in the deletion of the json file. After changing the setting, the issue seems to be fixed.
  2. Hi, I have a weird issue with the newest version of Forge (1.16.1). I can install it and even launch the game once upon installation, but upon that first launch, the json file disappears from the versions folder. Predictably, I cannot launch the game again unless I reinstall Forge completely. The error message I get tells me (accurately) that the json file is corrupted or missing. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks in advance. Edit: I tried and this same thing happens with 1.15.2 as well. I tried reinstalling java, the problem persists. Edit 2: Keeping the launcher open after launch seemed to have solved the problem.
