    So in case anyone is trying to do something similar, I accomplished this by changing the game settings gamma value between -1.0 and 0.00, changes based on moon cycle... going to try and make it function for underground as well..

    I want to change the values in the light texture map so that the base light level when there is no skylight and no blocklight is darker. Exactly like the mod Hardcore Darkness. I am not sure exactly where I should start, I want to avoid ASM if possible. Has anyone done anything similar to this?
