    my java is up to date on my computer, i think its an error with my overall file system i'll screenshot the error here. This is what happens every time i've tried to do it and i'm not sure why

    Whenever i try to download forge it downloads as a .jar file with notepad but anytime i open it it just opens the file information without actually installing anything, i've been trying to get forge to work for months now to no avail, i was going to try and take it to get fixed but before i pay to do that i wanted to see if the problem could be fixed in a simpler way
