Moving up to 1.16.4 worked. Thank you for the guidance!

Seems to have worked, but I do still want to play with Optifine. I will try moving up to 1.16.4 and see if the problem is still occuring

Yes, I did have optifine. I've put it in my mods folder ever since I got forge and it always worked fine.

Yes. I ran an instillation of just optifine, no mods, no forge, and everything was fine, but when i run a forge instillation, that's when the problems come in.

Last night, I started having a problem in my worlds where it wouldn't let me use any commands. Also, whenever I go to Save and Quit a world, the game softlocks. It only happens when I use forge to launch the game. I tried downloading a more updated version of the forge instillation and updated versions of the mods I use, but that did not work.
