Ah ok, so in which case, I will need to figure out how to get the data of a grass block into my custom block

Hi everybody, I am quite new to modding with the current version of my mod made in MCreator, I wonder if there is a way to port it, namely since I want to have working custom grass blocks, making flowers be able to be bonemealed on the custom block, etc. Again, I have no idea what I have to do, if needed, I have the assets to remake the mod from scratch. So, i got the 1.12.2 forge so that i could use a mod for this update, but every time i try to open up this version of forge, it just crashes. I can't even get the starting part of it to load
